Maja & Blip: a friendship you can hear.
“Maja & Blip” is an animated feature film for children that we are developing in our own storytelling studio, zeit:raum studios. When Maja, who is deaf, rescues the little music robot Blip, a big dream comes true for her: through him she can hear again. But soon a race against time begins to bring Blip back to his home planet.

A green light in the sky.
One evening, nine-year-old Maja, who is deaf, spots a mysterious green light in the sky and meets a little robot called Blip. He comes from a distant planet whose inhabitants communicate through music, and he urgently needs to get back.
Maja and her big brother Marc do everything they can to help Blip. To send an SOS signal to Blip's family, they have to play a very special song together. Through Blip's music, Maja can hear for a while, and she knows she will lose this ability and her new friend again.
Characters, light and music.
At its heart, the film is about friendship, overcoming obstacles and a family that finds its way back together. Maja did not have an easy relationship with her family before. With courage and solidarity, they master every challenge together.
For the teaser, we developed, modeled and animated Maja and Blip as characters and told the night through a light that carries the story. The same craft goes into brand characters and mascots that stay recognizable across many spots.
Two recognizable characters

Green as a leitmotif
The green glow leads through the night, from the clearing to the barn, and announces Blip before you see him.
Music as language
On Blip's planet, everyone speaks in music. That makes sound part of the plot, not just accompaniment.

The result is the story, the character design for Maja and Blip and a teaser of just over a minute. The film is in development.

How far along is “Maja & Blip”?
The animated feature is in development. In 2024 we made a teaser, for which we developed, modeled and animated Maja and Blip as characters.
What's it about?
Nine-year-old Maja, who is deaf, rescues the little music robot Blip and can hear for a while through his music. With her brother Marc, she tries to get Blip back to his home planet.
Is the animation made in-house?
Yes. Story development, character design, 3D animation, lighting and editing of the teaser were all done at our headquarters.
