Origins

Lessons from Los Angeles.

In 2013 J. J. Abrams invited Thorsten Hary to Bad Robot in Los Angeles, where he got to help on the visual effects for the Oscar-nominated Star Trek. He has brought that craft to every production since: light is set and shaped, every format has a reason, and an image is only finished when it holds up.

Headquarters

A house where films are made.

The building at Europaallee 12 was designed by FLOSUNDK architektur + urbanistik and received the Bauherrenpreis of the Architektenkammer des Saarlandes in 2010. Production, color grading, sound and CGI all sit under one roof here, along with a bistro with a working kitchen, a library and a vinyl corner. Visitors often tell us it is the coolest and nerdiest company building they know. They might be right. Explore our headquarters
